Cleanup events have always been popular in Ukraine whenever there is a need to do something beneficial for the community. Wikipedia defines a toloka as a one-time unpaid communal work to quickly complete a large-scale task. Traditionally, toloka is a form of peasant mutual aid, where neighbors, relatives, and friends are gathered to work together. It usually includes treating the workers to refreshments.
So, we followed the tradition—useful work, neighbors working together, and delicious field porridge.
Together with us in cleaning the streets of the village from garbage, debris, and parts of destroyed buildings were the residents of Stary Saltiv, employees of the "Barvinok-100" kindergarten, volunteers from Kharkiv and neighboring villages, and local entrepreneurs.
We cleaned the territory of the "Barvinok-100" kindergarten, the central streets of Stary Saltiv, and the playground near the volunteer center.
It's heartening that the community actively engaged in restoring cleanliness and beauty to the streets of our blooming town.
